William Burns - Haiku Series
amber walls
carving volume
out of empty space
Distant Thunder
Stroboscopic lightning
Shadow at the window
the sprinkler
chic-chic-chic
rainbows dance
The deserted old home
in broken window panes
frothy white plum blossoms dance
Deep in tall amber grass
the moment whispers
hissy thoughts
Rain drops fall
the tombstone's serifs
the bent willow stirs
misty afternoon
across the road
shiny windows
raindrops . . .
rainbow seeds
Dust in the driveway
Holds an impression
Your footprint
leaving
A wind-tossed paper scrap
Covers the dog's eyeless face
The alley is still
Dreaming safe Haven
The broken child sleeps
Whole again
The broken dolls floats
Face-down in the road-side ditch
The water is still
