The cover photo is Gravity, by Eric Boutilier-Brown. Check this guy out - he's good. Thanks Eric!
Hey y'all. Sorry nineteen's so late - I know how you hang on each issue, right? - but my appendix went awol at the first of the month, and I've been way behind ever since. Nineteen is a strong, strange issue, so read with care. This time we welcome Jennifer Ley and Karen Wurl back into the fold, as well as some first-time powerhouses from rec.arts.poems such as Joy Yourcenar and the elusive J R Sherman. Great stuff from our brace of Perrys and the other regulars, too. Don't miss Mark Hartenbach this ish.
Read David Gordon's story, "Dance With Me Lavatory Man". It's short and worth twice the time it'll take.
The Gravity anthology and the Rainy Day/Gravity contest will have their own pages up by 5/28, no later. In the meantime...
...the book. Yes, an anthology of the best poetry from two years of Gravity is in the works as you read this. I am taking subscriptions now to raise the money to print the thing. Ten bucks, and you get over 100 pages of the mind-blowing verse from this site. Want to buy a book?
...the contest. Rainy Day Records is sponsoring a poetry contest to be awarded through Gravity. Check out the contest site for further details.
Notice that Gravity has added a links page - not much there yet, but I'm gonna let it grow organically. Let me know of anything I should add.
Oh, and hey, if anyone knows how I can get in touch with Melissa Hill from a few issues ago, or if you're Melissa and you're reading this, write me. The address I have for her doesn't work.
Peace,
JC, 5/98
