Poems

D.W. Bohn

his love and hers

his love is a mountain
its peak perennially obscured by clouds
its center ashen and sheer
its base a forest bursting with rivers and streams
that often overflow when the rains come

hers is a garden
verdant but strictly tended
in neat weedless rows
with every lovingly maintained plant
restrained to its designated place
and every flower precisely timed to bloom
when the rain begins to fall
