Dancing Bear - Poem

Juxtaposition
I got your message an hour late I got your message an hour late
after having licked the envelope after I had just washed my hands
and stamp walking to the mailbox from returning from the ritual
and sending it in submission burning of another failed poem
I'm sure the work is flawed, now now, I am sure I have lost my one
I fear the editors will have a important contribution to literature
tearful laugh at my expense that its ashes are out in the bbq
that they will make copies of it being mourned by the moaning ghosts
and distribute it around their of Dante, Shakespeare and Auden
office as the "this week's stinker" who have told the angels and saints
and even the guys in shipping will never to admit me to heaven after
have it taped to their filing cabinet such a lowly and sinful waste
