Chuck deVarennes

Between anger and loving lies
The place compassion fades and dies.
Harsh judgment and decided act
Become kaleidoscopic fact.
Confusion washes through the hole
Created in a sickened soul.
Self-righteous anger brews a mix
And fools the mind with colored tricks.
Bright logic only blinds the eyes
If reason's chain begins from lies,
And then a deadly weapon's built
By painted fear and secret guilt
Until the colors merge to black
And drive a darkened mind's attack
Against all love. O twisted pride!
The killing is a suicide.
