Poems

A.M. Sullivan

Ode to the Unwritten Word

The split-beat poem causes
Breath caught short
Bookstore fright

Fat push of words, learning
Too much about these people
Fulbright, Oxford, Faulkner people

Shot bolt fever again
A knot, drum-tight
Crests like a seaside storm

Not to explode
But recede with the night
And not writing a word
